I learned about the Law of Attraction, Thoughts Become Things, and the Power of Positive Thinking nearly a decade ago, but I feel like I’m just now learning to harness the power of this kind of positivity, combined with knowing what I want, and also taking action. The final push for me giving these kinds of mindsets a try? Negativity was getting me nowhere.

  1. Hi Katie, I’ve listened to all the podcasts and love them!
    I may have missed one as
    I recall earlier on you using the term minimalish. Just curious (not the why but) what was the awaking moment for the thought shift.
    A storage tip for those mummy bags? Fold them instead of rolling them and sew a couple of pillow covers for them.

    1. Thanks so much for listening to the show, Caroline! I’m so glad you’re enjoying the episodes! You know, I’m not quite sure when I used the term “minimalish” — I believe there’s a podcast with that term in the title, maybe you heard it there or I could totally be forgetting I used that word, haha! My apologies, if so. For me, that mental shift occurred when I looked around my messy house one day and it all finally felt absolutely overwhelming. I’d tried minimalism before, but it hadn’t stuck because I couldn’t live up to the magazine-cover-standards. I also wasn’t implementing it into more than my possessions — I hadn’t tried to apply it to my schedule or budget, for instance.

      I WANTED to practice minimalism. At the same time, though, I knew I couldn’t live the same type of minimalism that single, non-parent minimalists were living. I was also tired of the judgmental attitudes I experienced from others as well as myself. Those things combined led me to finding MY kind of minimalism…and also wanting to empower others to do so as well.

      What about you? What set off your mental shift towards minimalism and figuring out how to make it work for you? I always love hearing stories from others.

      Also, thanks for the tip for the sleeping bags! I’ll have to try that.
